Marguerite has enjoyed painting all her life.

In the 1960s she worked as a fashion artist in London and during the 1970s decorated and designed hand made furniture. She studied History of Art with the Open University and obtained an honours degree in 1993. During recent years she has attended classes in life drawing, enamelling and painting at Bristol School of Art and has exhibited regularly in galleries in the Bristol area.

IDEAS & INSPIRATION -

Whilst ideas for her paintings come mostly from a need to convey feelings and emotions through texture and colour - inspiration often comes from the amazing landscapes and skyscapes that now surround her in her home on the Mendips. She strives to capture the transience of nature and also give the feeling of being transported to somewhere magical that is always uplifting.

The need to express her joy and delight in the actual process of painting is often her biggest inspiration. There is always a sense of playfulness in her compositions - lines dance, interact and seperate across the surface evoking energy and vitality.
